Avant Garde Floral Design for a Fall Wedding at Megunticook Golf Club

Floral design for weddings is about so much more than pretty flowers. It’s about evoking a feeling, creating atmosphere, and designing something unforgettable. Lindsey and Joaquin’s wedding at Megunticook Golf Club in Maine was all about mood. When Lindsey found us on Instagram, she described her vision as New England in a fall palette but wanted the composition to feel unstructured and avant-garde. We love breaking the status quo and diving into creative design!

Designing Florals to Complement Megunticook Golf Club

Lindsey and Joaquin tied the knot in a small but stunning chapel just up the hill from Megunticook Golf Club, a dark, vintage country club in Rockport, Maine. When designing their reception space, Lindsey and Joaquin opted for a mix of bistro and cafe tables, which left plenty of room for larger floral installations! They also wanted suspended florals to draw the eye upwards. We love it when couples prioritize their floral investment and create space for bold compositions.

To match the ambiance of the venue, we chose dark foliage with light, textured blooms to create tasteful contrast. Joaquin is from Mexico, so we took inspiration from the rich landscapes and textures there, while minimizing our carbon footprint by using local and foraged stems. While the sun set over the golf course, warm yellow candlelight filled the reception and created an intimate atmosphere for dinner, toasts, and dancing.

Creative Floral Design for Weddings and Events

We loved Lindsey and Joaquin’s wedding because it felt unique to them. Our favorite thing about floral design for weddings is the ability to break trends and create new ones simply by leaning into the couple’s vision, personality, and venue. Even navigating the dark and moody interior of Megunticook Golf Club was a challenge that forced us to think outside of the box and lean into a bold yet balanced design.

We love nothing more than working with couples who have a strong vision and are okay with breaking the mold! If you have a creative idea for your wedding florals and want to work with an experienced team to bring it to life, we would love to hear from you.
