As luxury florists, our job is to create floral designs that complement and elevate your wedding venue. Tara had a very specific vision for her beachfront wedding at Kalmar Village. She couldn’t find a designer in Cape Cod or Boston who fit the style she was going for. On a whim, Jessica Hennessey, their wedding planner, searched for florists in Maine and stumbled upon our studio! Once we heard Tara’s vision, we were so excited to travel to Kalmar Village in North Truro, Massachusetts, to bring it to life.

Kalmar Village is an oceanfront resort with private cottages leading right onto the beach. We wanted to embrace the coastal charm of the venue in our designs. Texture was key! Texture is one of our favorite floral elements to focus on. We wanted a look that said, Truro, beach, and fall. We leaned into golden grasses, airy textures, seasonal hops, and asters and dahlias as our main blooms.
Tara and David’s ceremony happened right on the beach. Simple wooden benches lined the sides of a boardwalk-style aisle. We “planted” seasonal grasses at the start of every aisle, leading to a colorful, half-arch installation at the altar. The soft pink and purple blooms framed Tara and David as they exchanged their vows.

Tara, David and their guests escaped the soft drizzle by slipping into the reception space, a large sailcloth tent with clear siding. We decorated each of the pillars holding the tent aloft in lush greenery with pink, purple, and neutral dahlias and asters. Lights covered by wicker baskets hung from the ceiling. The bar and the head table were surrounded by foraged grasses and oceanfront blooms in containers of sand, bringing the beach aesthetic into the reception. On top of everything, we placed the half-arch installations from the ceremony behind the bride and groom’s chairs! We always recommend reusing your florals from your ceremony in the reception. The florals elevated the simple sailcloth tent, maintaining the rustic, coastal charm of Kalmar Village.

Sometimes it’s challenging to bring such a specific vision to life, but our years of experience have taught us how to listen and build upon each client’s personal style. Tara knew exactly what she wanted, and we were so happy to bring her fall beach wedding to life. It was truly unlike anything we’ve done before, and we can’t wait to do more like it!
No matter where in New England you’re getting married, we can come to you and build sustainable floral installations that make your wedding unforgettable. We design florals with your vision in mind, basing every bloom on your aesthetic! Explore our wedding and event services and inquire to share your inspiration.
