A Dreamy Champagne and White Wedding at French’s Point

Luxury floral design isn’t always about creating jaw-dropping installations. Oftentimes, it’s about creating an atmosphere, designing an immersive setting so the couple and guests can sink into the evening. That was the goal for Allie and Oliver’s champagne and white wedding weekend at French’s Point in Maine.

The Vision: Textured Champagne and White Wedding Flowers

Allie and Oliver are from Florida, where the groom plays on the Everblades hockey team. They fell in love with French’s Point, and we can’t blame them! French’s Point is a stunning private estate on the banks of the Penoboscot River. It was the perfect location for the couple’s black-tie celebration. Allie and Oliver were looking for a trustworthy local florist, and the staff at French’s Point recommended us! We were thrilled to help this out of town couple bring their dream wedding to life in Maine.

As floral designers, we consider it our job to take a trend and elevate it. Nothing is classier than a champagne and white wedding, but we still wanted to put a unique spin on this timeless theme. The couple’s vision was simple. They wanted lots of white and lots of texture. We leaned into this by using white roses, hydrangeas, and baby’s breath with local greens and grasses.

Simple, Immersive Design at French’s Point

Allie and Oliver were married on the lawn overlooking the river. They chose to use the pavilion as the focal point. We wanted to let the natural beauty of the venue speak for itself, so we opted for two framing installations on the pavilion itself and organically shaped aisle arrangements. We wanted the space to feel natural and cohesive, so the focus remained on the couple. The neutral-toned flowers worked perfectly with the overall color scheme and the bridesmaids’ champagne-colored gowns. Everything felt clean, sophisticated, and luxurious.

The reception took place in a large sailcloth tent. We have years of experience designing for tented wedding receptions and know exactly how to navigate the design restrictions that tented receptions create. Instead of a hanging installation, Allie and Oliver wanted the florals to feel more grounded and interactive. We built “trees” on the tent poles using conduit framing, chicken wire, and angel vine. Installing upright florals directly on the tent poles can be challenging, so we used pole clamps to minimize shifting throughout the reception. All the while, we stuck to the textured champagne-and-white wedding theme. The result was a classy, upscale garden party environment that wowed both the couple and their guests!
