As luxury event florists, we are well acquainted with the creative process. In fact, over our collective decades in the floral industry, we’ve developed a unique and streamlined design process to bring flowers from vague ideas to in your hands. If you’re planning a wedding and want to understand the in-depth process behind each of our designs, this blog is for you. We’re pulling back the curtain to show the not-so-glamorous but deeply important side of event floristry so you can feel confident at every stage. 

Phase 1: Exploration and Vision 

The design process always begins with exploration. This is where we start dreaming (and we love to dream big). After you inquire, we have our first virtual meeting and listen closely to your vision. No matter how vague your idea is, we are experts at taking a feeling and turning it into a plan. On this call, we explore the possibilities for your florals, evaluate your venue, gather inspiration, and discuss budget. Once we understand what you’re looking for, we send you the estimated price so we can begin designing! 

Phase 2: Design & Refinement 

In the second phase of the design process, we begin crafting a plan for each arrangement. We develop a recipe (aka, a list of all the stems, materials, and vessels we’ll need) for each piece. We even create digital mockups, which are especially helpful if we’re designing something entirely new. This way, even if the style of your arrangement isn’t anywhere in our portfolio, you’ll have a visual representation of what we’re building. 

Then, we meet at our studio or a rental showroom so you can pick out your vessels. This will ultimately determine the style of your table and let us know how many vases, stems, and candles we will need for your tablescape.

After this meeting, we’ll know exactly what we need to create your dream flowers. We’ll first unveil a digital mockup of your full tablescape, with all of the arrangements. And if you think that is exciting, you’re going to be thrilled with the next step! We’ll meet once more in-person to show you a physical mockup of your wedding flowers, complete with linens, place settings, and candles. We encourage wedding planners to attend this meeting as well, so we can discuss any changes you might have and even play around with different table settings! If you love the mockup (and we think you will), we’ll present you with the final price point and begin planning the day-of logistics. 

Phase 3: Execution 

This is where everything comes together. In the final weeks before your wedding, we have one last meeting to discuss logistics. Here, we walk you through every stem for every arrangement. This is your wedding, and we want you to be absolutely in love with the final results. And after this? Well, you can sit back and enjoy the final stretch of your engagement! We work directly with your planning and vendor team to finalize everything. While you’re enjoying the morning with your closest friends, we are at your venue turning it into a floral dreamscape.
