As luxury wedding florists, we are always excited when couples come to us wanting something classic and grand. Lizzy and Michael were married in a local church and hosted their reception at The Cliff House, an absolutely stunning four-star hotel in Maine. We knew their floral designs needed to match the level of subtle grandeur and sophistication of their venue, while still reflecting the couple’s palette and personality. We dove headfirst into this design, working alongside Lizzy, Michael, and Michael’s mother to create the absolutely perfect look.

We love working closely with our couples and their families to design florals that feel natural and intentional. We even worked alongside administrators at the church where the ceremony would be held to ensure everything was aligned. However, last-minute changes can’t always be avoided. When we arrived at the church, the priest had a few requirements we needed to meet. Luckily, our experience allowed us to work quickly and efficiently. We redesigned all 36 aisle arrangements in the moments before guests arrived, and no one was the wiser! Plus, we were still able to repurpose the arrangements at the reception to create a lush staircase design that set the tone for the reception.

One thing about The Cliff House? It is grand in every sense of the word. From the vaulted ceilings to the large windows overlooking the rocky shoreline, the ballroom simply takes your breath away. It was important to the family that the floral arrangements matched the atmosphere. We created a luxurious entryway with white and pastel blooms lining the staircase that leads to the ballroom. Using our go-to foam-free process, we used a deep plastic bowl nestled within large clarinet vases to create statement-making, elevated centerpieces on every other table. Everywhere you looked, you saw a wireframe of greenery filled with baby’s breath to maintain that light and airy feeling, even while the flowers cascaded over the long tables and onto the floor. The overall effect was stunning, if we do say so ourselves.

We had such a great time working with Lizzy, Michael, and their families to bring this vision to life. Large-scale installations like this are some of our favorites, and we loved expanding on a classic design to create something as majestic as The Cliff House itself. Whatever vision you have for your wedding, we are experts at bringing it to life in a way that complements your venue and creates a cohesive, immersive experience. And the best part? We do it sustainably and ethically through our foam-free processes! If you want a beautiful and sustainable approach to wedding florals, you are in the right place! “Courtney and her team at Abby Garden Floral are truly in a league of their own. Their attention to detail is unmatched, and their ability to adapt to both client preferences and unexpected challenges is nothing short of incredible. On the morning of our wedding, we had a last-minute issue: the church unexpectedly asked that all floral arrangements be removed because they were too large and obstructed the aisle. With less than 90 minutes before the ceremony, Courtney and her team sprang into action. Instead of giving up, they quickly and skillfully reworked every single arrangement to meet the church’s requirements—without sacrificing beauty or impact. We cannot thank the entire team at Abby Garden Floral enough for making our day unforgettable!”
