Seasonal Floral Design for a Private Estate Wedding in Maine

As luxury wedding florists, we are so honored when couples find us after seeing our previous work. Hannah and Josh found us through a wedding we did for one of Hannah’s friends back in 2022. Three years later, we were doing Hannah’s own wedding on Josh’s family’s property! We absolutely love designing floral installations for private estate weddings. We love seeing the places that are so close to our couple’s hearts.

A Floral Palette for a Late Summer Wedding

Hannah wanted her color palette to feel very immersive and appropriate for a late summer, early fall celebration. We incorporated burgundy, light blue, the palest blush, chartreuse, and a touch of pale yellow. Sometimes, multi-color palettes like this can feel choppy. To avoid that, we lean on texture first and fill in carefully with focal blooms. This creates a smooth, intentional design. We used many different flowers, like alliums, delphinium, aster, and petalless sunflowers, for the best impact and balance.

Building Unforgettable Installations for this Private Estate Wedding

The ceremony and reception were held on the groom’s family property. Their compound spanned almost an entire private road along the Kennebec River. The views from both locations were absolutely stunning. We built installations that complemented the natural beauty of the location, using our foam-free floral techniques to build sturdy, beautiful, and eco-conscious installs.

For the ceremony, we used medium and small flower containers with chicken wire and hairpin flower frogs. For the reception, we created a large installation above the dance floor. We used the 3/32 gauge steel cable that the lighting company installed. We wrapped it with angel vine and chicken wire and filled it in with bold colors, lush greenery, and focal blooms to tie everything together. After we finished installing it, we heard that it was the coolest thing we’ve ever created. We happen to agree!
